Greening Road Map
At the request of President Moreno, a multi-departmental Greening the IDB Task Force was formed in 2006 to look at greening issues at the IDB. The objective of the task force is to facilitate a reduction in the environmental and social “footprint” or negative impacts of the IDB headquarters and country office locations and facilities, and increase awareness on environmental and social sustainability issues in the work place, focusing on encouraging staff to understand the value of their own responsibility.
The task force submitted an initial road map for Greening its activities in April, 2007 to IDB Management for its consideration, focusing on seven action areas:
Reduce, reuse and recycle
Greening printing and publications
Cafeteria Improvements
Sustainable Procurement
Travel to work
Going Carbon Neutral
Green education and leadership
During summer 2007 the task force will continue to refine these actions, and beginning to implement these. Further information will be made available on each activity area in the months to come
