CONNECT TO LOCAL AND REGIONAL CAMPAIGNS!

  • Partner in local campaigns. Become a partner in the campaign, alongside with other members of society.
  • Partner in regional campaign. As the campaign will be launched throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, exchange information and lessons learned in this area with other countries.
  • Establish a regional committee. Set-up and maintain formal channels of communication that promote discussion of the issue at the regional level. Countries throughout the region are encouraged to establish committees to discuss campaign findings, and to share policy information and good practices.

CREATE A SPACE FOR ONGOING POLICY DIALOGUE!

  • Explore local expertise. NGOs, community organizations and other groups have valuable experiences working with children outside the family, school and community. Tap into them!
  • Allow critical input from different members of society. Maintain open communication channels with NGOs working with these children, concerned community groups and the children themselves!

INVEST IN THE CHILDREN, FAMILY AND COMMUNITY

  • Consider social policies that foster community participation and may improve the situation of children in schools, families and communities. Broad policy areas include the following:
    1. Preventive healthcare
    2. Infrastructure services
    3. Community-building and development projects
    4. Opportunities and education for women
  • Implement CRC Legislation. Design programs and allocate funds to guarantee the basic needs and rights of all children.
  • Enforce CRC Legislation. Construct mechanisms that allow the monitoring and enforcement of such programs.
  • Keep children high on the policy agenda!
