Encapsulating
a sense of despair in a sequence of fixed images cropped with
calculated premeditation and intertwined with animation and
incidental music, the narrative beneath reiterates itself with
different characters and circumstances, time and again. The
slow motion of the camera and the sordid atmosphere of the images
embody a wordless tragedy, a common place for Latin American
reality, or for all that is unjust and unfair in our world.

Diego
David Cifuentes Guerra was born in Quito, Ecuador
on February 8, 1964. He studied Sociology and Political
Sciences at the Catholic University in Quito. He is
a professional photographer and as such has taught at
the St. Francis and Catholic Universities in Quito,
and collaborated with the newspapers Diario Hoy
and El Comercio, also in Quito. He has participated
in several group exhibitions, among them the 2004 Triennal
LUMO in Finland. His photographs have been published
in Norway, Spain and Ecuador. He lives in San Rafael,
Province of Pichincha, in Ecuador.
