Sources of Information
Information on Bank loans, operations and procurement opportunities is
available through several outlets:
The IDB website provides a wealth of information on Latin
America and the Caribbean and on the Bank’s activities in the region, including
business information, project documents, operational policies and strategies,
socioeconomic data, studies, press services, and a calendar of events. Information
is also available on employment, consultancy and internship opportunities.
The Bank’s procurement policies and procedures, standard bidding documents,
procurement notices, and contracts award information can be accessed via the
Project Procurement Information portal of the
IDB website.
Within the website, the Project Gateway portal provides detailed information
on the Bank’s project portfolio, including financial data, project status, descriptions,
procurement information and project documents, which include the
name of project team leader or the contact information of the executing agency.
The Statement of Approved Loans, updated monthly, provides information on
public sector loan disbursements and repayments for every operation from
1961 to the present.
In Canada and Europe, the IDB has established networks of Private Sector
Liaison Officers (PSLOs) aimed at increasing awareness of Bank activities and
enhancing interaction between the IDB and private companies that are doing
business in Latin America and the Caribbean. The PSLOs, with support from
the Bank, act as convenient points of contact to disseminate information to a
wide variety of organizations, including trade and industry associations, private
companies, nongovernmental organizations, and educational institutions.
The PSLOs provide insight on how to work with the IDB and how to
strategically identify potential partners in the region.
The Bank’s Public Information and Publications Section holds a series of
business seminars on specific sectors at its headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The IDB Staff Phone Directory is a useful reference tool for locating individual IDB
staff members at the headquarters and Country Offices.
For press releases and the award-winning online magazine IDBAmerica,
which provides feature stories on trends in the region and Bank projects and
activities, visit the News page.
The IDB has Public Information Centers in Washington, Paris, Tokyo and each
of its 26 Country Offices in Latin America and the Caribbean. General information
and documents related to all phases of project design and implementation
are available through the centers in both electronic and printed versions.
The names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers of contact persons at the
Public Information Centers are available.
General inquiries can be directed to the Public Information Center at IDB
headquarters (Tel.: (202) 623-1394; e-mail: pic@iadb.org). Inquiries on business
