Press Information:

Each year in late March or early April, the Boards of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank and the Inter-American Investment Corporation meet in one of the Bank's member countries. This official gathering is a forum for discussions among the institutions' Governors, most of whom are finance ministers of the regional and nonregional member countries, central bank presidents, and advisors. Representatives from multilateral financial institutions, development agencies, and commercial and investment banks also attend.

The 2000 Annual Meeting will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, on March 27th through the 29th.

As in the past, the Bank and the host country are sponsoring a series of seminars on topics of interest to participants. These preliminary activities will begin on Thursday, March 23.

All meetings and seminars will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
