TO PROVIDE VIDEO COVERAGE OF ANNUAL MEETING IN FORTALEZA, BRAZIL
Highlights
of inaugurations, seminars, to be transmitted on Internet
The Inter-American Development
Bank will offer comprehensive televised coverage of the highlights of
the 43nd Annual Meeting of the IDB Board of Governors and related activities
and events that will take place in Fortaleza, Brazil, March 7-13.

of the meeting will also be available online from the IDB at ftp://friends:incoming@bridge.iadb.org/
The Annual Meeting attracts
thousands of government officials, private sector representatives, journalists
and other participants and observers, in addition to official delegations
headed by cabinet ministers. The
meeting is the premier world form on economic and social development
of Latin America and the Caribbean.
IDB broadcast coverage
via satellite transmission and webcast will include highlights of the
inaugural session on March 11, four key seminars, and loan signing ceremonies,
as well as press conferences, special events and other activities.
Satellite transmissions
begin on March 8 and will include raw footage and packaged reports on
the IDB’s response to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and the following
topics: "Young Leaders in the 21st Century," "HIV/AIDS and Development,"
and "Sustainable Tourism Development." The IDB’s on-site production
crew will also be available to provide customized feeds to news organizations.
