Place and date of the meeting
The First Latin American and the Caribbean Aid for Trade Meeting will be held in Lima, Peru, from September 12 to 15, 2007. The Inaugural Session will be held at the Miraflores Park Hotel, on September 13. See detailed agenda attached.
Airport arrival, customs and immigration
The host country will have duly identified staff available at the airport in Lima to assist arriving travelers. To enter Peru, citizens of the following member countries will need a visa:
All African countries (except South Africa), Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Bhutan, Cambodia, United Arab Emirates, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Oman, Qatar, Laos, North Korea, Pakistan, Syria, Sri Lanka, People's Republic of China, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen, Cuba, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Slovenia, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and Serbia & Montenegro.
The need for a visa is determined not only by the participant's nationality, but also by the type of passport he/she holds. Persons with a diplomatic passport or other official credentials should consult the nearest Peruvian Embassy.
Weather
Lima has a pleasant climate. In September, the temperature ranges between 14º C and 25º C (58-70º F). Weather forecasts can be found at www.weather.com
Electricity
The electric current in Peru operates on 220 volts.
Exchange rate
Peru's official currency unit is the Nuevo Sol.
The free exchange rate on June 30, 2007 was: US$1 = Nuevo Sol 3.15.
Time zone
During the Meeting, Peru will be five hour behind Greenwich Mean Time.

Press services:
Members of the press (including print, radio, and television) wishing to cover the meeting should register before September 1, 2007 via email to: mildredr@iadb.org
Members of the press are to register with Meeting staff located at the Reception Desk in the Miraflores Park Hotel.
At registration, journalists will be asked to provide the following so that an identification badge, which will permit the participant to gain access to the meeting rooms, can be issued.
Peruvian journalists: Valid photo ID, and the identification card of their news service
Foreign journalists: Valid passport and press credentials (with photograph)
Airline and tourist information: Airline and tourist information and a travel agency to handle flight reconfirmations, passenger services, tour booking services, and others, will be located at the reception desk of the meeting.
