As per its mandate, the role of SOE is to contribute to the strengthening of relations and cooperation between the Bank and the institutions of the European Union and the other international organizations based in Europe.

Accordingly, SOE represents the IDB at meetings organized by the OECD, the European Commission, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the Paris Club and more than other fifty meetings a years held in Europe, Latin America and the United States. Among other strategic partnerships, SOE thrives to consolidate strong relationship with the European Union (EU) institutions & the OECD.
