SOE Programs - Private Sector Development Business Information & PSLO Network -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With the objective of strengthening the collaboration between the Bank and the private sector in its European member countries, in 2006, SOE and EXR jointly established a network of Private Sector Liaison Officers within major European business organizations. 17 business organizations from 12 different countries agreed formally to join the initiative and designated a liaison officer to collaborate on a permanent basis with the Bank. The main objective of the initiative is to set up a win-win relationship with renowned business organizations in Europe, founded on mutual trust and commitments in order to: (i) better serve European private sector with opportunities generated by IDB-funded operations and (ii) improve, through joint efforts, the targeting and efficiency of the Bank’s outreach activities related to private sector investment and trade in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The IDB network of Private Sector Liaison Officers has already become a major tool of IDB outreach to the business community: organization of European business delegations to IDB headquarters and country offices; preparation and participation in many business briefings.
