natives
In an effort to seek new policy approaches to address the migration
experience in Latin America and the Caribbean, the IDB on June 9

dimensions of migration. At the seminar, experts discussed recent
studies analyzing the social and labor impacts of migration from a
number of different national and social contexts, including Ecuadorans
in Spain, family members of Mexican migrants who remained in Mexico
after family members left that country, and the schooling of children of
migrants in El Salvador.

strengthen youth's values, principles and practices for a life in
democracy
The highest political body of the Organization of American States (OAS),
which brings together the region's Ministers of Foreign Affairs,
concluded its deliberations in early June reaffirming the commitment of
Member States to promote and strengthen among young people the values,
principles, and practices of a democratic life, in approving, by
acclamation, the Declaration of Medellin: Youth and Democratic Values.
The 34 Chiefs of Delegation expressed their "commitment to promote
favorable conditions for full and effective political participation by
young people conscious of their rights and responsibilities, and willing

"Count
me in: The readers' take on sustainability reporting" by GRI
The current report presents the findings and analysis from the first GRI
Global Readers' Choice survey, in which readers of sustainability
reports were asked about their input on the subject. In the years since
the advent of sustainability reporting, many surveys and research
exercises have attempted to establish opinions and consensus on what
comprises quality reporting. But very little attention has been focused
on the actual readers of these reports: Who are they? What do they think
of reports? What do they use reports for? Conducted from October 2007
through the end of January 2008, the Readers' Choice Survey looks for
the first time at the readers, their preferences and behavior. Nearly
2300 readers and non readers from around the world answered the survey
questions, with analysis and results presented here.
