MfDR and the Private Sector Network

MfDR and the Private Sector Network

In order to have a “competitive private sector”, countries need a “competitive public sector”.

The objective of the CoPLAC-MfDR’s Private Sector’s Network is to facilitate private sector’s engagement in development and aid effectiveness discussions at the global and country levels in the Latin American Region.

The Network is integrated by four different types of private companies that are promoting development within the Region: 1) Latin-American multinational private companies or Multilatins; 2) Multinational private companies with operations in Latin America and the Caribbean; 3) Small and Medium private companies; and 4) Think-Tanks, that is private sector and private associations’ knowledge community .

The first meeting was held in October 2010. During this session, 30 private sector representatives discussed private sector’s in formulating and managing for development results, the way development can be prompted by the private, and how private sectors research centers and knowledge community can promote MfDR.

The was be held on August 2, 2011 in Washington, D.C.
