The IDB supports Mexico’s labor market with US$300 million
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will give Mexico a loan for US$300 million, following a continuous effort to support employment that the IDB has pursued since 1997.
With this Loan, we initiate the third and last phase of the Support to Training and Employment Program (Programa de Apoyo a la Capacitación y Empleo – PACE), which will benefit close to 10 million people in a five year period, and will generate approximately 4 million jobs.
The program will consist of a series of actions, including training scholarships and support to self-employment. Additionally, the creation of a single window to align services for employment supply and demand is being considered, in order to help job seekers obtain a better skills assessment and employment advice.
