IDEAS 2011

IDEAS was launched a second time on September 15 of 2011 in cooperation with the Secretary of Energy of Mexico with the support of the Sustainable Energy Fund (FSE ) , for its acronym in Spanish , the Inter-American Development Bank ( IDB) and the South Korean government to promote innovation in the field of sustainable energy. More than 700 applications were received from Latin America and the Caribbean. As a result, nine winners were selected from Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, in the individual category and Mexico in collaboration with participants from Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Ecuador in the category of Consortium, led by a Mexican institution, focused on measures energy efficiency, energy access in rural areas and the expansion of renewable energy.
