IDEAS is another contribution to the SE4All UN global initiative to promote the 3 pillars of SE4All. The three pillars are: (i) universal access to modern energy services, (ii) double the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix, and (iii) double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency.


IDEAS announces the winners of Energy Innovation Contest 2013

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) announced the 10 winners of its IDEAS IV 2013 Energy Innovation Contest, an initiative for improving energy efficiency and expanding access to renewable energy in Latin America and the Caribbean, following a selection process which considered a total of 563 proposals.

Sponsored by GDF SUEZ, the Nordic Development Fund ( NDF ), the government of South Korea, the Multilateral Investment Fund ( MIF ), and the Inter-American Development Bank ( IDB ), this 4th contest was launched in April 2013 and seek proposals that promote innovative solutions to energy problems, benefit local communities or regions, create jobs and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
