Mariana Alfonso - Education Specialist

Mariana Alfonso is a specialist in the Education Division at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). She joined the IDB in 2006 with the Junior Professionals Program, working first in the Research Department and then in the Education Division. Before joining the IDB, Mariana worked as a post-doctoral research associate at Brown University’s Taubman Center for Public Policy, and as a researcher at the Community College Research Center at Teachers College, Columbia University. She received her Ph.D. in Economics and Education from Columbia University in 2004, and her BA in Economics from Universidad Nacional de Cordoba. Mariana is the author of numerous journal articles on education policy.
