Quito Historic Center Rehabilitation Project (first and second stages). The program’s general aim is to conserve and rehabilitate the city’s historic center by restoring its functions as a provider of commercial activities and traditional services, facilitating access to goods and services, and promoting the correct use and maintenance of public and private buildings, thereby increasing its attractiveness to visitors interested in its historical and cultural heritage. It also seeks to monitor and improve air quality in the metropolitan area of Quito. The project’s second phase is directed at strengthening the municipality’s capacity to sustain and continue the rehabilitation process.
