LAC/G20 Initiative
The LAC/G20 Initiative, launched in April 2010, provides technical support to countries included in the G20 (LAC3: Argentina, Brazil and Mexico) and facilitates their dialogue at the technical level with the rest of the Latin American and Caribbean countries on matters included on the G20 agenda. It aspires to:
- Support and enrich the analysis of the LAC3 on G20 issues.
- Exchange information and concerns between LAC3 and the other LAC countries on G20 business; and
- Help build LAC consensus positions on G20 issues.
The LAC/G20 Initiative provides a forum in which LAC countries interact at the technical level. Regular meetings are restricted to the country members of the Network of Central Banks and Finance Ministries plus IDB senior staff, under Chatham House rules.
