9:45 am - 6:00 pm / 8:30 am - 12:00 m

ECLAC, Av.Dag Hammarskjöld s/n

Santiago, Chile

This meeting of the LFN is organized by the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Centro de Economía Aplicada of the University of Chile. The purpose of the meeting is to promote high-level policy discussion on financial issues and to foster bonds among the academic community and policymakers of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The recent crisis episodes experienced by the region highlight the relevance of the financial sector for economic stability and development. They also raise a set of issues that require further analytical and applied research in order to guide policymaking decisions. In this context, the LFN Workshop is a timely and unique opportunity to bring together top researchers, policymakers and financial regulators from around the world to discuss recent theoretical and empirical advances in financial economics, debate pressing policy issues for the region, and gain insights to guide the research agenda.
