JA-T1066 : Support the Implementation of the Fiscal Consolidation Program
Project Description
The Government of Jamaica (GOJ) has requested a technical cooperation program for the implementation of the Fiscal Consolidation Program. The analytical work and the required expertise as well as the training program to rise from the technical assistance are seen as key inputs in achieving the objectives of the Fiscal Consolidation Program. The TC will finance the following main activities:a) Tax Policy Design and Modernization of the Tax and Customs Administrations. b) Public Debt Sustainability and Management. c) Central Treasury Management System. d) Public Relations Campaign for social consensus building to accompany the implementation of the Tax Reforms. The technical cooperation program includes a significant amount of training of government officials to create a strong institutional capacity to support the implementation of all components of the program and assure the long lasting effects of the Fiscal Consolidation Program.
