Strategic dialogue with private sector
- Led the establishment of the Permanent Secretariat of the European Union – LAC Business Summits, with EUROCHAMBRES; BUSINESSEurope; Peruvian CONFIEP; Austrian WKO; Spanish CEOE; Spanish Ministry of Economy; Madrid Centro Financiero; PromoMadrid; and other business chambers.
- Collaborated in the organization of the III EU-LAC Business Summit, May 2010.
- Promoted Sports in Development initiative, through MoU with Fundación Club Atlético de Madrid; and initiated contacts with other related entities.
- Sought Export Financing and Credit Guarantees, through partnerships explored with CESCE (Spain) and MoU signed with SACE SpA (Italy).
- MoU signed with PromoMadrid to collaborate in projects and share best practices in urban planning, infrastructure and transportation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- President Moreno gave presentations to Foro Latibex and Instituto de Empresa in Madrid.
- MoU signed with INTESA San Paulo Bank of Italy, as well as Fondazione CRUI of Italy.
- In the framework of the IDB Private Sector Liaison Officers (PSLO) Network, an annual seminar was organized in Valencia, Spain, with the participation of 7 PSLOs.
- Designed a joint EUR – MIF work plan for the promotion of partnerships and resource mobilization in Europe, in line with the updated MIF strategy. Different activities have been undertaken towards investment funds, foundations and multi/bi-lateral organizations.
- Explored resource mobilization and promoted partnerships with non-sovereign European partners, including: Association of Commercial Banks, Association of Insurance Companies, BusinessEurope, Eurochambres, IMS-Entreprendre, GDF-Suez, corporate foundations, local governments, Fundación BBVA Microfinanzas, Fundación La Caixa, among others.
- Established contacts with the European Foundation Centre, and national foundation associations in several European countries (France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom). Pursued partnerships with major European foundations.
- Participated in the organization of the Second International Economic Forum in Paris, together with the French Ministry of Finance and the OECD.
- Organized civil society consultations, and other contacts with CSO in Europe.
