MIF, Nordic Development Fund launch biogas program for Nicaraguan farmers
The Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), a member of the IDB Group, is partnering with the Nordic Development Fund (NDF) and two Dutch non-governmental organizations, Hivos and SNV, to launch a $6.3 million biogas market development program that will bring renewable energy to small farmers in Nicaragua and contribute to reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

El Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID) aprobó una línea de crédito rotatoria de US$200 millones para la empresa española Abengoa SA para financiar el desarrollo de proyectos de transmisión eléctrica y generación de energía, principalmente de fuentes renovables, además de concesiones de agua, saneamiento y salud en América Latina.

Peru will improve early childhood education with IDB and KfW support
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approved a loan to Peru for $25 million for an early education project that will foster safe schools, improve teaching methods, and support the participation of parents in the educational development of children 3 to 5 years of age in the departments of Ayacucho, Huancavelica and Huánuco. The IDB financing will be supplemented by $25.7 million in local counterpart funds from the Peruvian government, a grant for $5.5 million from the German international cooperation agency KfW, and a loan from the same agency for $8.3 million.
