IDB begins publishing data under IATI common standard

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is pleased to announce it began publishing data under the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) common standard. IATI is a voluntary, multi-stakeholder effort to make information about aid spending easier to find, use and compare.

The IDB became a signatory of IATI at the Fourth High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Busan in November 2011, when, among other commitments, participants agreed to make information on development cooperation resources more readily available and publicly accessible. Forum participants set out to implement a common, open standard for electronic publication of timely, comprehensive and forward-looking information on resources for development cooperation by the end of 2015. The OECD Working Party on Development Finance Statistics (WP-STAT) and IATI coordinated the development of a common standard.

The Bank’s IATI Implementation Schedule contains the timetable and frequency of data publication and an overview of the types of data to be published in the IATI format. It is available for download along with the implementation schedules of other donors. The IDB data published so far are preliminary and the Bank will continue its efforts to fully meet the standard by 2015, in line with the Bank’s policy on Access to Information.
