On October 19, 2017 MICI received a new complaint related to the "Reventazon Hydroelectric Power Project" (CR-L1049). On October 26, MICI notified the complainants about the closure of the administrative process as one of the exclusions established in paragraph 19 of the MICI Policy applied. On October 23, 2017, MICI published the Consultation Phase Report. The report highlights the results of the Consultation Phase, among them the agreements and the Follow-up Plan to monitor the compliance of the agreements. For more information, please access the registry file.
On August 16 and 17, 2017, after months of conversations, the Parties reached a successful agreement at a workshop facilitated by MICI. During the workshop, the Inter-Ethnic Association for the Development of the Peruvian Rainforest (AIDESEP), the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and the Execution Unit for Sectorial Proyect Management (MINAGRI) agreed on the progress made on the 2016 commitments and a follow-up plan for the pending actions.
On August 14, 2017 MICI received a new complaint related to the Project "Establishing Cadastral Registry & Strengthening Legal Certainty Protected Areas" (GU-L1014). On August 18, MICI notified the complainants that the complaint was not registered because they had not first attempted to contact Management to address their concerns. On August 7, 2017, MICI received a new complaint related to “Reventazon Hydroelectric Power Project” (CR-L1049). On August 10th, MICI notified the Requesters and Bank Management that the Request was registered because it fulfilled all the necessary requirements for processing. In July, MICI received two new complaints linked to Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) projects in Ecuador and Brazil.
On July 25, 2017, MICI received the first complaint financed by the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC). This complaint was related to the "Grupo Corporativo Papelera S.A. de C.V." project in Mexico (ME4024A-01).
On March 23, the assessment stage was initiated, with the objective of understanding the context of the request, the perspectives of the parties, collecting information and, finally, determining whether a dialogue between the interested parties would be feasible. On June 27, MICI determined that the complaint is eligible for the Consultation Phase.
On June 19, 2017 the Executive Board of Directors considered the Policy and Evaluation Committee (PEC) Chair Report on the Recommendation for conducting a Compliance Review and Terms of Reference regarding the “Reventazon Hydroelectric Power Project” (CR-L1049) presented by MICI on May 23, 2017.
On June 19, 2017, the Board of Executive Directors of the Bank, in a meeting with the General Committee, considered the Compliance Review Report presented by MICI, regarding the “São José dos Campos Urban Structuring Program”.
