MICI-BID-BR-2017-0118- Mario Covas Rodoanel Project (Brazil) - Eligibility Memorandum Published

On May 19, 2017, MICI concluded that the complaint was not eligible, as it failed to meet the criteria established in the MICI Policy, due to the decision by the complainants to withdraw their claim in order to explore alternative resolutions.

CO-MICI002-2011 – “El Dorado International Airport” (Colombia) – Compliance Review Report and IDB Board of Directors’ Decision published.

In May of 2017, the IDB Board of Executive Directors met in a session of the General Commission to consider the Compliance Review Report, presented by MICI, for “El Dorado International Airport” (CO-MICI002-2011).

MICI-BID-HA-2017-0114– Productive Infrastructure Program (Haiti) – The MICI team conducts a mission to Haiti as part of the Consultation Phase.

During May 8 to 24, 2017, the MICI team conducted two missions to Haiti: one to Port Au Prince and the other to the Caracol area as part of the evaluation process of the Consultation Phase for case MICI-BID-HA-2017-0114 regarding the IADB’s financing of the Caracol Industrial Park (CIP) under the “Productive Infrastructure Program.”

MICI-BID-CH-2017-0115- Alto Maipo Hydroelectric Power Project (Chile) – Eligibility Memorandum Published

On May 1, MICI determined that the complaint was eligible, as it met the criteria established by the Mechanism’s Policy. This determination is not an evaluation of the merits or the topics presented in the complaint, nor is it an evaluation of the compliance or non-compliance of the Bank in relation to its relevant Operational Policies. The complaint was transferred to the Compliance Review Phase, as per the Requesters’ wishes. The start of the investigation does not imply the suspension of the execution of the project. On March 23rd, MICI determined that the complaint was eligible, as it met the criteria established by the Mechanism’s Policy. MICI-BID-PR-2016-0101- Downtown Redevelopment, Modernization of Metropolitan Public Transport, and of Government Offices Project – Panel Conformation and Start of Investigation

On March, 2017, the independent specialists Ione Novoa (Brazil) and Guillermo Tejeiro (Colombia) were hired to conduct the investigation of the case led by the MICI Compliance Review Phase Coordinator. The start of the investigation does not imply the suspension of the execution of the project.

MICI-BID-CR-2016-0112- Reventazon Hydroelectric Power Project (Costa Rica) - Eligibility Memorandum Published

On March 3, 2017, MICI concluded that the complaint was not eligible due to not having met one of the criteria of the MICI Policy, in particular paragraph 22 (d). For more information, see the case registry file.

MICI-BID-HO-2017-0117- Multiphase Program for the Rehabilitation of Sections of the Tourism Corridor of the PPP (Honduras) - New Complaint Received

On February 17th, 2017 a new complaint was received. On March 10th the MICI notified the complainants about the closure of the administrative process as one of the exclusions established in paragraph 19 of the MICI Policy was applied. For more information see the case registry file.

MICI-PE-2015-0094 – Rural Land Titling and Registration Project (Peru) – Ratification of Agreements and extension of the Consultation Phase.

On February 07, 2017, the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation of Peru (MINAGRI) ratified its support for the agreement signed in June of 2016, during the dialogue exercise of the Consultation Phase. In order to allow the Parties time to jointly develop an action plan to fulfill the agreement, on March 17, 2017, the MICI requested an extension of the Consultation Phase timeframe, which was granted by the Board of Executive Directors on March 27, 2017. The current deadline for the Consultation Phase is September 29, 2017. For more information, access the case file.

MICI-BID-CR-2017-0116- Reventazon Hydroelectric Power Project (Costa Rica) – New Complaint Received

On February 14, 2017 a new complaint was received. On February 21, MICI notified the complainants that the complaint was not registered due to the fact that they did not made previous contact with Management to address their concerns in first instance.
