OVERVIEW

The IDB's Country Strategy for Jamaica in 2013-2014 focuses on supporting authorities in mitigating the country's challenging economic and fiscal situation, while simultaneously protecting the poor and vulnerable, preserving social stability and positioning the economy for growth. The priority areas are: fiscal sustainability, social protection & safety, and financial sector & business climate. To mitigate fiscal and social impacts posed by extreme climatic events, disaster risk management and climate change adaptation are addressed as a cross-cutting theme.
