History of the IDB in Haiti
- The IDB is Haiti’s largest multilateral donor, with a portfolio of 33 programs for a total of about $827 million as of the end of 2010.
- In 51 years of operations the IDB has approved almost $1.8 billion in concessional loans, grants and guarantees for Haiti.
- Since 2007, IDB financing for Haiti has been exclusively in the form of grants, totaling $473 million through the end of 2010. Haiti is the only country that enjoys grant-only status at the IDB.
- At the March 2010 Haiti Donors Conference the IDB pledged to approve $200 million annually in new grantsfor recovery and reconstruction investments over the 2010-2020 period.
- In 2010, the IDB more than doubled the allocation for grants to Haiti to $251 million. For 2011 the allocation is expected to increase further, to $286 million.

Water for St. Marc
The IDB's Water and Sanitation Program has helped 35,000 people have access to potable water in the Haitian city of St. Marc.
