Development Operations Staff

The IDB lends to national, provincial, state and municipal governments as well as autonomous public institutions. Civil society organizations and private sector companies are also eligible for IDB financing and have seen their importance growing over the past year and are expected to grow further.

A large number of our employees are directly involved in the different stages of the project financing cycle (from identification and validation of the conditions to monitoring and ex-post evaluation) from headquarters and in the countries.

The skills required to be successful in the management of our operations  is a mix of project management, negotiation, communication and financial skills combined with sectoral, country or regional expertise.
