Cheryl Morris-Skeete is Alternate Executive Director for The Bahamas, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago at the Inter-American Development Bank; this gives her the distinction of being the first female in this position, an accomplishment of which her country Barbados is justly proud. She has been a committed member of the team of the Inter-American Development Bank since 2010, working as a Counselor in the Caribbean Constituency Office and is an experienced, results-oriented, project and procurement management professional, development policy analyst with over 29 years of Caribbean and international experience. Educated at the University of the West Indies, Barbados and the University of Maryland, USA, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Master of Science degree in Project Management and Evaluation and a Masters of Management degree in Acquisition and Supply Chain Management. Mrs. Morris-Skeete is a career public servant with a total of over 23 years’ experience working in various areas of the public service. Prior to her joining the Bank, she worked with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs in the Public Investment Unit which is responsible for implementing the Government of Barbados’ Public Sector Investment Program. In her spare time Mrs. Morris-Skeete volunteers with the Embassy of Barbados in Washington, DC and various other organizations.
