Marcelo Bisogno is Dean of the Board of Executive Directors and Executive Director for Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). He has also represented Uruguay at the Board of Executive Directors of the World Bank as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director. Previously, Mr. Bisogno served as Senior Economist at the World Bank, Development Economics (Research and Statistical Department) and as Country Economist for the Slovak Republic, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the IDB he was Junior Economist (Office of Operations’ Evaluation) and an external consultant. Mr. Bisogno was Assistant Professor in Financial and Actuarial Mathematics, School of Economics and Business at the Universidad de la República Oriental del Uruguay.
He is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics and has a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Kansas. He was awarded a degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economic Science and Administration from the Universidad de la República Oriental del Uruguay. Mr. Bisogno was awarded Fulbright scholarships for University Educators and Researchers (1989-1991).
