• IDB to co-host Geotourism Summit along with National Geographic and Ashoka

  FOMIN, the investment fund of the Inter-American Development Bank, in partnership with National Geographic Society (NGS) and Ashoka’s Changemakers, will host an event to promote new business ideas for tourism in Latin America and the Caribbean with a focus on public-private partnerships.

• IDB makes first loan to a Guatemalan bank under its Trade Finance Facilitation Program (TFFP)

  The Inter-American Development Bank signed today a loan agreement with Banco G&T Continental, S.A. (G&T) to make the first loan to a Guatemalan Bank under its enhanced Trade Finance Facilitation Program (TFFP).

• Guatemala receives $100 million from Spain and the IDB to improve water and sanitation services

  Thanks to $100 million in assistance from the Government of Spain and loans from the IDB, Guatemala will expand safe water and sanitation services to approximately 600,000 people in 280 rural communities and 60 urban and periurban areas that today lack those services.
