The IDB and Microsoft Research invest US$250,000 on five Latin American scientific research proposals
The Latin American and Caribbean Collaborative ICT Research (LACCIR) Virtual Institute announced the five winning research proposals, presented by academic researchers from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama and Uruguay, chosen to receive funds from a US$250,000 grant provided by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Microsoft Research.

Manaus and Catanduva get IDB loans under the Procidades program
Two more loans were approved today under Procidades, the credit mechanism that finances integrated urban development programs for municipalities in Brazil. The newest beneficiaries from the IDB loans are the city of Manaus, the capital of the Brazilian state of Amazonas, and Catanduva, a city in the heartland of Sao Paulo state.

IDB attracts major banks for largest transportation financing deal in Latin America
The Inter-American Development Bank has brought together major banks, including the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), to participate in one of the largest infrastructure project financing deals in Latin America this year.
