The offices of the Meeting Secretariat in Okinawa will open on 3 April 2005. All communications, however, should be sent to Washington, D.C., for retransmission to Okinawa.
Cyber Cafés
Computers will be available to delegates at the meeting site to access
Annual Meeting information and the Internet.
Distribution of documents and speeches
At registration, each participant will receive information regarding all
the documentation that will be available on the Bank’s Annual Meeting
website. Governors who wish to present an address at one of the plenary
sessions are requested to provide the Documentation Service with the
text of their
speech at least 18 hours in advance to allow for prompt distribution.
Governors’ speeches and related Annual Meeting documents will be
published on the Bank’s Annual Meeting website for easy access via
the Internet.
Mail
Participants should have their mail addressed to them at their hotels.
In case of emergency, however, any urgent communication the Bank receives
will be forwarded to the addressee provided the Secretariat has been advised
of the hotel where the person is staying.
Simultaneous interpretation
Simultaneous interpretation into English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish
will be provided during the sessions.
Health
unit
An emergency health unit will be set up at the Okinawa Convention Center. If
you have any emergency at the hotels, please call the front desk of the hotels.
Postal
and long distance telephone services
Postal services will be available to participants at the Okinawa Convention
Center, and international and domestic telephone services will be available
at the Meeting Venues. Cellular phone rental service is available at the Okinawa
Convention Center during the Annual Meeting. Participants will be charged for
these services, at regular rates.
Airline
and tourist information
Airline and tourist information services will be available at the Okinawa Convention
Center. The accommodations and Transportation Reservation Center will handle
reconfirmations, travel and/or tour booking services, and others.
Local
transportation
In Okinawa, the Government of Japan will provide transportation for participants
between the Naha Airport and the official hotels and from the official hotels
to the Okinawa Convention Center and to all the official events of the meeting.
Exchange
A temporary currency exchange service desk will be operated at the Okinawa Convention Center. Cash and traveler’s checks will be exchanged from U.S. dollars and Euro to Japanese yen at the service desk. Personal checks will not be exchanged. An ATM machine will be available at the Convention Center, accepting the following cash cards:
