Seminar Description
| Private Initiative for Public Welfare |
| Friday, 16 March - 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. |
| Salones Roble I and II - |
|
This seminar will highlight the role of private initiative in overcoming development obstacles through investment, technological innovation and social responsibility. The speakers will select highly relevant examples of private initiatives and public-private partnerships that have been successful in addressing challenges such as access to finance, connectivity, water and sewage and other basic infrastructure, and which have benefited bottom-of-the-pyramid groups and contributed to economic and social development. The speakers will then derive policy implications for governments and non-governmental organizations interested in expanding their reach in collaboration with the private sector.
