Inaugural session
The Inter-American Development Bank, in Guatemala City, opened its 48th annual meeting with a strong emphasis on two crucial issues, social inclusion and global warming.
Some 45 hundred people, including the presidents or prime ministers of five countries, the Banks governors and other dignitaries, gathered in the Central American capital to participate in the event.
IDBs President Luis Alberto Moreno restated the Banks commitment to end poverty, which affects more than 200 million people in the region.

Inter-American Investment Corporation Annual Report
The Inter-American Investment Corporation, an entity affiliated to the Inter-American Development Bank, was created to help small and medium-size companies reach what in almost every instance is a chimera, local credit.
This year, the Corporation has reasons to celebrate after having announced its most successful exercise in Guatemala City, where the IADB is holding its annual meeting.
