The offices of the Meeting Secretariat in Belo Horizonte will open on 27 March 2006. All communications, however, should be sent to Washington, D.C., for retransmission to Belo Horizonte.
Mail: Participants should have their mail addressed to them at their hotels. In case of emergency, however, any urgent communication the Bank receives will be forwarded to the addressee provided the Secretariat has been advised of the hotel where the person is staying.
Simultaneous interpretation: Simultaneous interpretation into English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish will be provided during the sessions.
Press Services: Members of the press (including print,
radio, and television media) wishing to cover the meeting should complete
the on-line
pre-registration before March 17, 2006.
Members of the press are to register at the registration desk located at the main entrance of the Expominas Convention Center. The desk will operate on the following schedule:

At registration, journalists will be requested the following material so that an identification badge, which will permit the participant to
gain access to the meeting rooms, can be issued.
Brazilian journalists: Valid picture ID, a letter from their news service stating that they have been assigned to cover the meeting as well as the number of the CNPJ (Cadastro Nacional de Pessoas Jurídicas) of the news service.
Foreign journalists: Valid passport, press credentials (with photograph) or a letter from their
news service stating that they have been assigned to cover the meeting.
Freelance journalists and photographers will NOT be able to register for the Annual Meeting.
The Press Room will begin operation on Thursday, 30 March, at the Expominas Convention Center.
Cyber Cafés: Computers will be available to delegates at the meeting site to access Annual Meeting information and the Internet.
Distribution of documents and speeches:
At registration, each participant will receive information regarding all the documentation that will be available on the Bank’s Annual Meeting website.
Governors who wish to present an address at one of the plenary sessions are requested to provide the Documentation Service with the text of their speech at least 18 hours in advance to allow for prompt distribution.
Governors’ speeches and related Annual Meeting documents will be published on the Bank’s Annual Meeting website for easy access via the Internet.
Health unit: An emergency health unit will be set up at the Expominas Convention Center. If you have an emergency at one of the hotels, please call the front desk of the hotel.
Postal and long distance telephone services: Postal services will be available to participants at the Expominas Convention Center, and international and domestic telephone services will be available at the meeting venues. Cellular phone rental service will be available at the Expominas Convention Center during the annual meeting. Participants will be charged for these services, at regular rates.
Airline and tourist information: Airline and tourist information services will be available at the Expominas Convention Center. Master Turismo will handle reconfirmations, travel and/or tour booking services, and others.
Local transportation: In Belo Horizonte, the Government of Brazil will provide transportation for participants between the Tancredo Neves Airport and the official hotels and from the official hotels to the Expominas Convention Center and to all the official events of the meeting.
Exchange: Banco do Brasil will operate a currency exchange agency at the Expominas Convention Center. Cash and traveler’s checks will be exchanged from U.S. dollars, euros, Argentine pesos, etc. Personal checks will not be exchanged. ATM machines will be available at the Expominas Convention Center, accepting the following cards:

Offices available at headquarters of IDB Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors
The Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank, the most significant gathering in Latin America and the Caribbean that focuses on the region’s economic and social development, brings together government officials, business people, and executives from private banks and financial and development institutions.
Taking into account the convenience of having all Annual Meeting participants located within a single venue, the Government of the State of Minas Gerais is making executive suites and offices available for lease at the headquarters of the upcoming annual meeting of the IDB, to be held in Belo Horizonte’s EXPOMINAS Convention Center from 28 March to 5 April 2006. Other rooms will also be available for meetings, workshops, seminars, working lunches, and other events.
