Integration of Regional Infrastructure in South America (IIRSA)

IIRSA aims at improving physical infrastructure in 12 South American countries to promote trade, competitiveness and economic development in the region. The initiative has three core components: transport, energy and telecommunications. The IDB is a member of IIRSA’s technical coordination committee and expects to continue its involvement in the initiative through 2010.
