Enhancing the Bank's Economic Intelligence Initiative (EEI)

EEI was organized around three programs:

• The country macroeconomic watch program, which monitors and analyzes systemic developments in the region and macroeconomic developments in seven Latin American countries—Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela.
• Academic and policy research networks, which promote policy dialogue among the academic community, the IDB and policymakers.
• Special studies and seminar series on topics such as labor markets and social safety nets, financial and commercial integration, fiscal issues, and the financial sector.
