Poster

During a difficult period in Paris while living and performing at a club known as L´Escale, Parra used her characteristic insistence to beg Michel Farey, curator of the Museum of Decorative Arts, to exhibit her tapestries, paintings and sculptures. Due to her persistence, which helped her on many other occasions to wear out people’s resistance to her requests, she was allowed to exhibit her work in the Marsan Pavilion in April and May of 1964, where it is believed she sold several of her compositions. Among them was the portrait of Brazilian poet Thiago de Mello (also included in this exhibition), which was purchased by the Baroness of Rothschild. This is the poster she created for that occasion.
