Description :
The
world is globalizing day by day, therefore the existence of global
rules to manage it is imperative. In the event "Ethics and
Development" performed in Santiago, Chile the purpose was to
promote a public discussion and in consequence allow the establishment
of a working network oriented to join the efforts from all sectors
and actively incorporate the ethic dimension within development,
creating economic and social policies, establishing priorities and
assigning resources.The main points of the two panels composing
the event were: The role played by ethical values in the development
process, some of the main ethical dilemmas currently faced in design
and deployment of economic policies, the solidarity ethics an its
implications on how economy works, the interrelations among ethics,
equality and economic development, social responsibility of different
social sectors and the analysis of remarked experiences in civil
society related with ethics challenges facing.
