Guidelines and Environmental Assessments

Environmental guidelines are prepared by the Bank to help borrowers carry out the various tasks in the Environmental Analysis process, thereby ensuring the adequacy and timely conduct of necessary activities, and ultimately resulting in the financing of development projects that are both environmentally and socially sound. They are intended to provide guidance and to set forth best practices for managing environmental assessment, enhancement and mitigation programs required of the borrower by Bank operations in the region.
